Welcome to the Young Buddhists project page!
This space is for those in their late teens, 20s and 30s interested in practicing the Dharma. It is a space to share our inspiration, to explore together, helping each other to go deeper, to understand better.
All this is in the context of what it means to be a Young Buddhist. While we create a flowering long lasting sangha. For an awesome future! for the benefit of all beings. :D
What is a 'Young Buddhist'?
We define Young Buddhists (YBs) as people between the ages of 16 and 39 who are interested in, and/or practicing Buddhism.
How do I get involved?
Many Triratna Buddhist Centres have a Young Buddhists group - as a first step why not ask if there is a group at your centre? If you are not sure where your nearest centre is, there is a handy list here. There is also a Facebook group for Young People in the Triratna Buddhist Community which you can join and engage with others if you use Facebook.
There are lots of events throughout the year which run around the world specifically for young people - and each year there is a big retreat for young people held over a weekend, which is open to all Young Buddhists.
Who runs this group?
The group is managed by a core team of 'Buddhist Geeks' who help to make sure things run smoothly. These are currently:
